Olinto De Pretto
I read an article from Gente Magazine, titled, "Einstein e un Usurpatore" by Gaspare Di Sclafani. The article explains research done by Professor Umberto Bartocci (his Email) (his web site) of the University of Perugia, Italy, Mathematics department which explains that the equation E=mc^2 is the work of Olinto De Pretto. He published the formula twice, in the exact form in 1902 and 1903, two years earlier than Einstein.
An email from Prof Bartocci stated, "I exposed my researches on the affair Einstein-De Pretto in a book (“Albert Einstein e Olinto De Pretto - La vera storia della formula piu’ famosa del mondo”), which was published some months ago by the following editor:

The book costs something about 18 dollars, plus I believe postal charges.In this book I included all the original papers by De Pretto, which was published in the Proceedings (Atti) of the Reale Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti (“Ipotesi dell’etere nella vita dell’universo”, accepted in November 1903, printed in February 1904, Tomo LXIII, Parte II, pp. 439-500).
