A Brief History of Cuor d'Italia
The Italian folkloristic group Cuor d'Italia was formed for the sole purpose of sharing the rich tradition of our Italian culture through its dances and songs. The traditional dances of Italy vary from region to region due to the many influences of different cultures over the span of three thousand years. Our goal is to perform, and share with our audiences, these various dances from the different regions of Italy.
Cuor d'Italia was established in September of 2000 and, since then, it has participated in many cultural activities. It made its debut with the Columbus Day Festa in October, 2000, and continued with performances in various school, church, cultural and International events. We also had the pleasure of performing for dignitaries of the sister city (Floridia, Sicily) when they visited the city of Hartford, CT.

We continue to participate every year in the Columbus Day festivities, sharing the stage with various visiting dance groups from Italy, and various International festivals in local colleges and universities. Our group consists of several family members, namely, a mother and her two children, a mother and son, a mother and twin daughters, several teenagers and a twelve year old.
