  6. Dennis DeYoungCLICK HERE to go to his site for more info.
Mr. DeYoung, who is of Italian-American heritage, was born in the Roseland neighborhood of south side Chicago in 1947 began his musical career taking up the accordion at age seven and played in many of the city’s annual Venetian Nights accordion band “concerts” in Soldiers Field during his childhood.

Progressing to other keyboards as a teenager and co founding the band at age 14 which would be later known as Styx a long with neighborhood chums John and Chuck Panozzo, the threesome worked hard at their craft playing weddings and such until the band expanded to include other Chicago musicians culminating years later in the early 1980’s when they were considered in the rock music industry to be the number one band for album sales and concert attendance.

They were the first band ever to be awarded with 4 consecutive triple platinum albums and were also chosen as the People’s Choice Award for Best Rock Band of 1979 largely due to the success of their Billboard charted number 1 single “Babe” which Dennis wrote for his wife.
